Contest!!!

I'm a lame ass pimp and missed the opening week of two of my favorite ladies. So I'm making up for it with a contest. But first, let's talk books, or at the very least book stores.

Caitlin and I will be heading up to Seattle in a few hours to do the writing-in-coffee-shop thing followed by dinner with Synde. I can hear y'all now, "On a Tuesday?" you ask. Hells yeah on a Tuesday, cuz that's when the books come out and up here in the wet northwest, that's when authors do their song and dance for the crowd. We have no shame.

Tonight is all about Kat Richardson and Richelle Mead, they'll be reading and signing their brand spanking new tomes, Underground and Storm Born (respectively). So if you're hanging out in the Seattle area, swing by the University Bookstore at 7:00 tonight for some storytime and to have your books signed by some hot chicks (they've got Sharpies and they're not opposed to signing man-boobs, so if that opens it up for any of you...).

While you're there...

You need to pick up Countdown by Michelle Maddox or Rowen or whatever, cause I'm sure she won't mind what you call her as long as you pick up her fantastic romantic thriller. Next up on your shopping list is Hotter than Hell, Jackie Kessler's third entry into the Hell on Earth series, and on your way home pick up some asbestos panties for this read (you don't need those nasty blisters again, do you?).

So, it's contest time and I'm not giving any of these books away. What I am doing is offering up is a $20 gift card from Amazon, then you can get one or two, or a big deposit on all of them if you'd like.

Here's the deal...

Just leave a glowing comment about how excited you are that these ladies spend their time hammering away their fingers to nubs. Blood runs red on the keys people. It ain't all rainbows and moonbeams (like I'm telling you something you don't know.)

I'll leave it open 'til Friday and then reveal the random winner by noon, pacific.

Get on it!

Jackie, Richelle and Michelle totally rock! I have never read Kat but if she is grouped in with these amazing writers, I am thinking I definitely need to check her out! Thanks for the heads up Mark!

Lori
I totally appreciate all the work the ladies (and you, too, Mark, I suppose) have done for us lowly readers. What would we do if we didn't have their books? I for one don't want to know.

****(and you, too, Mark, I suppose)****

I don't know how to make it italic, so I did the ass*teric thing. And really, I probably would have done it that way anyway, because ass*teric is fun to say.

Anyway, can I just say I spit water all over the damn place when I saw that?! Classic.

Oh MY GOD! What freakin' AWESOME writers with releases out today! Wish I had a bookstore within driving distance. As it is, our piddly WallyWorld isn't even green and tan yet, let alone putting the new releases on the shelves on, ya know, the actual release day!'

Anyway, CONGRATS ladies! You ALL are ROCK STARS, but especially Richelle :) Can I just say I lurves her?

I love Richelle's work, and Ms. Kessler is a hoot! She spent the whole day with us lowlanders blogging away with us. Marvelous! I have heard only good things about Kat!

Mark, please let me win, okay pal? cause I really could use a GC right about now. LOL I always give them but nary a card comes my way...*sigh*

Anyways, enough whining! Have a great day and thanks for a frabruous (new word) contesto! :)

Jackie, Richelle and Michelle are great writers. I hope they write many more books.

The only author here that I haven't read (yet) is Michelle Maddox. She's in pretty damn good company though :) I can't wait to read all of these books!

Those ladies are fantastic. I've got the books on my amazon wish list, only I already spent my limit this month! With no book stores anywhere near me, Amazon makes a lot of money from me! Have fun in Seattle! Jen :)

Any author who puts their time and effort to make a great book is awesome in my book. What I especially like is how each other that you mentioned brings a different look to the urban fantasy genre.

Thanks

Hi Mark,

As one of Jackie Kessler's hellions, I can assure everyone that HOTTER THAN HELL is, well, hot. Daunuan heats up the action in this tome, my fingers still have blisters.

Can't wait for to read STORM BORN, Richele's latest offer to us. she has yet to disappoint me. Seriously, if it says Richelle Mead on the cover, I will buy it.

And just when can we expect #2 to hit the bookstores, Mr. Bishop in the Church of Zombies? I m waiting and patience is not one of my virtues, hmmph!

Road Trip of the Living Dead will be out in March 09. A ways off, but it's giving me time to prep the new series for submission and get the proposal ready for Amanda 4 and 5.

I'm so excited about all these books! Yippee Hoo! I've read Rowen/Maddox and Richardson, and heard terrific things about these others. And I could use a gift certificate to help me buy them; we'll just ignore the fact that my TBR already looks like a game of Jenga!

I was lucky enough to get my hands on Hotter than Hell a month early and it was soo good. It's different than the first two since it's from Daun's perspective, but it was still just as hot and yet strangely different than most Para-Romance or UF novels. And this different was in a good way. I can't wait to read her fourth novel or hear what it's even going to be about.

All these great releases are killing me...and my husband if he actually knew how much I have spent on books recently. I am bit concerned that I may have a problem...especially since my tbr pile is more like a bookcase full of things waiting for me to read...I just cannot stop buying the good stuff!!
I reviewed and LOVED Hotter than Hell AND Countdown. I am dying to read Richelle Mead's book Storm Born. It sounds so awesome. And Kat Richardson's book sounds great too! They are all fantastic authors and I would love a giftcard to buy Richelle and Kat's books. Awesome contest!

Jackie, Richelle and Kat's books are amazing and I totally appreciate the blood, sweat and tears that go into every book they write.

I love Michelle Rowen! I have the Immortality Bites series and in fact, Mark, she listed you as one of her favorites authors and that's when I bought your book!

Thank you for recommending some new authors that I'll be checking out at B&N this Saturday! Gina

I think I missed this one...turning 30 was a bit of a black hole and I am finally getting back to Earth...

Anyway I still wanted to post and say that Hotter Than Hell was HOT and amazing. Storm Born rocked! Unfortunately I can't seem to get a copy of the new Kat Richardson here...I will have to go look again but for some reason Europeans aren't allowed it yet! Typical!
